George Foster had 2 base hits at Fulton Co Stadium where the Cincinnati Reds
beat the pathetic Atlanta Braves by the score of 7 to 5.
Cincinnati had the winning rally in the top of the 8th inning with 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After two outs Pete Rose started the attack as he
laced a one-base hit. Dave Concepcion stepped up next and he blasted a
two-run home run (his 7th of the season). Cincinnati had many opportunities
throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.
The victory was credited to Clay Carroll(11-6) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Will McEnaney gained credit for his 13th save. The loss was
charged to Elias Sosa(3-8) in relief.
