Cincinnati Reds broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 4 to
3 win over the slumping Houston Astros and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Dave
Concepcion doubled. One out later, Tony Perez came to the plate and was
walked intentionally. George Foster then stroked a one-base hit giving
Cincinnati the victory as 47,719 happy fans celebrated wildly. Cincinnati
banged out 9 hits on the night.
