Tony Perez had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Riverfront Stadium as the impressive
Cincinnati Reds beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4 to 2.
Cincinnati promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring 2 runners
on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Perez who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled plating two runs. Cincinnati
and Los Angeles each finished the night with 7 hits.
The victory went to Clay Kirby(6-5) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Rawley Eastwick recorded his 13th save. Doug Rau(16-13) was charged with the
loss.
This win by Cincinnati continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten
